LCFL Adds new Team For 2008

LCFL Adds new Team For 2008

SAN DIMAS, Calif. (July 6, 2008) -- Today the LCFL took a big step in securing a new member team for this upcoming 2008 season. On Wednesday of last week, the league was informed by the Barstow Riffians that they would not be able to participate in the upcoming season for several reasons.  We LCFL began talks with several candidates that wanted to fill that void. After countless phone conversations, emails, and an emergencey meeting, the LCFL decided to bring in the California Cardinals of Apple Valley as a new member team. The Cardinals will play in the East Division and take on the same exact schedule that the Riffians had. Therefore, there will be no adjustments in the schedule and nothing changes. This also allows for Riffian players to still have a place to play this season as the Cardinals are only 30 minutes away in travel. The Cardinals have met all the criteria that was asked of them from LCFL administration and will be a great fit to the East Division of the LCFL West. They open up on the road next week against the Southern California Steelers. The LCFL will open the season next Saturday with 26 member teams. Let's get ready for some great football.
